About James & Karen Olsen

The Olsen Home Team's mission is to provide our clients with superior customer service. Our focus is to help you achieve your goals, and by the end of the process gain you as a lifelong customer and friend.

James grew up on a family farm in Northern Iowa.  It was there he learned the meaning of hard work and customer service, helping with his Dad's seed business.  After graduating from Bethel University with a Business/Political Science degree, he pursued a career in law enforcement, where retired after 22 years of service.

Karen was born and raised in River Falls.  After high school, she attended UW-River Falls where she earned a degree in Business.  Karen then went to work for the Boy Scouts of America as a District Executive.  Later, she attended Lakeland College, where she received a degree in teaching.  When our third child was born, the decision was made for Karen to quit teaching full time and become a stay at home mom.  Her passion for teaching still exists, and you can find her filling in as a substitute teacher at local school districts.

James and Karen have been married for 21 years and are the proud parents of three children.  Some things we enjoy doing is camping, fishing, and spending time with family.  In the fall, you will find James pheasant hunting or still helping on his family farm.  Karen likes to cook, volunteer at church, and remodel our home.

James's strengths are marketing and negotiating.  If you are selling your home, he will take the time to walk through your property and complete a full market analysis.  He will then provide you with an individualized marketing plan designed to get you the highest possible price for your home.   As a buyer's agent, he is committed to finding the home that meets your requirements and being an advocate during the entire process.

After you have a signed purchase agreement, the real work begins.  Karen acts as our transaction coordinator.  Her organizational skills are critical to getting you to the closing.  It is important to have someone who will schedule inspections, coordinate with a title company, make sure all deadlines are met, and make sure documents are processed in a timely fashion.

We look forward to serving you and earning your trust.  Please let us know if there is anything we can help you with.
